Hexahydrocannabinol, often known as HHC, is a naturally occurring derivative of THC that is found in some cannabis strains. When produced chemically by hydrogenating THC, HHC is likewise regarded as semi-synthetic. It is believed to be 70–80% as potent as THC, making it more powerful than delta-8 THCV and delta-9 THCv. The effects of HHC, a hydrogenated version of THC that occurs naturally in some cannabis strains, are around 70–80% stronger than those of THC.
Is HHC synthetic or natural?
Depending on its source and method of production, HHC is classified as both a natural and a semi-synthetic cannabis. Cannabis naturally contains minor amounts of HHC. When THC is oxidized into CBN over an extended period of time, minute amounts of HHC, together with delta-8 THC and delta-10 THC, are produced. A cannabinoid found in mature cannabis is called CBN.
