About CBGA (cannabigerolic acid) Full Spectrum CBGA Oil 5%
The acidic version of cannabigerol is known as cannabigerolic acid (CBGA) (CBG). It is a dihydroxybenzoic acid and an olivetolic acid in which a geranyl group replaces the hydrogen at position 3. It is a biosynthetic precursor of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis. In addition, it is a phytocannabinoid, a polyketide, a diterpenoid, and a resorcinol. It comes from an acid called olivetolic. It is a cannabigerolate conjugate acid.
CBGA is produced by the Cannabis plant from the synthesis of olivetolic acid and geranyl diphosphate. CBGA is changed in the plant into CBCA, CBDA, and THCA by the enzymes CBCA synthase, CBDA synthase, and THCA synthase, respectively. Then, by drying and heating plant material, THCA and CBDA can be decarboxylated into THC and CBD. CBGA has newly discovered pharmacological capabilities; for instance, in a mouse model of the epileptic disorder Dravet syndrome, it demonstrated anticonvulsant effects.
